An INPA and ISTA alternative for iPhone and Android

Many BMW owners use BMW's own tools: INPA (engineering diagnostics, mostly E-chassis), ISTA (the dealer's diagnosis and service system) and NCS Expert or E-Sys (coding). They can do nearly everything, but they need a Windows laptop, a K+DCAN cable (E-chassis) or an ENET cable (F-chassis), and patience: the installs are fiddly, many menus are in German, and a coding mistake can leave a module wrongly coded.

AutoLingo for BMW does the everyday jobs from your phone: it reads the fault memory of most modules in plain English, shows live data, runs service functions and changes E-chassis coding, with the same BMW protocols, from an app you install from the App Store or Google Play.

  • You program modules, need BMW's full test plans, or work on G-chassis cars: keep ISTA for that.
  • You already have a laptop and cable set up and know your way around them.

Choose AutoLingo for BMW if

  • You want to read and clear faults, check live data, reset service reminders or register a battery from the driveway, without a laptop.
  • You'd rather not install unofficial software.
