BMW hybrid dc/dc converter fault codes

The 13 fault codes the hybrid dc/dc converter can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.

  • 010A8D APM: 12V electrical system, undervoltage
  • 010A8E APM: 12V electrical system, overvoltage
  • 010A8F APM: Deactivation
  • 010AF7 APM: Cooling circuit, overtemperature
  • 010AFE APM: Voltage conversion 12-V to high voltage, high-voltage electrical system, undervoltage
  • 010AFF APM: Voltage transformation high voltage to 12V, 12V electrical system, undervoltage
  • 011ABC APM: High-voltage electrical system, undervoltage
  • 011ABD APM: High-voltage electrical system, overvoltage
  • 011B90 APM: 12V electrical system, overcurrent
  • 011B91 APM: High-voltage electrical system, overload current
  • 01C073 APM: H-CAN data bus communication fault
  • 01C594 APM: Hybrid master control unit interface (control voltage conversion, 0x1D7), signal implausible
  • 01D89A APM: No message from hybrid master control module (HCP)
