BMW independent/auxiliary heating fault codes

The 16 fault codes the independent/auxiliary heating can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.

  • 0000 STH: Glow plug/flame monitor
  • 0001 STH: Temperature sensor
  • 0002 STH: Combustion-air fan
  • 0003 STH: Circulating pump
  • 0004 STH: Metering pump
  • 0005 Vehicle blower control
  • 0006 STH: Heater overheating
  • 0007 STH: Undervoltage deactivation
  • 0008 STH: Overvoltage deactivation
  • 0009 STH: Control module faulty
  • 000A STH: EEPROM data record incorrect
  • 000B STH: No flame formation
  • 000C STH: No flame formation after flame interruption
  • 000D STH: Repeated flame interruption in heating cycle
  • 000E STH: K-bus malfunction
  • 000F Outside temperature not available
