BMW video module fault codes
The 46 fault codes the video module can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.

- A388 VM: RGB input, Red signal: outside tolerance
- A389 VM: RGB input, Green signal: outside tolerance

- A38B VM: RGB input, Sync signal: outside tolerance
- A38C VM: CVBS input, signal 1 (MMC): outside tolerance
- A38D VM: CVBS input, signal 2 (AUX): outside tolerance
- A38E VM: CVBS input, signal 3 (NIVI): outside tolerance
- A38F VM: Receiving system, supply voltage: outside tolerance
- A390 VM: Receiving system, supply current: outside tolerance
- A391 VM: CVBS output, signal: outside tolerance
- A392 VM: RGB input 1, Red signal: outside tolerance
- A393 VM: RGB output 1, Green signal: outside tolerance / RGB connection faulty
- A394 VM: RGB output 1, Blue signal: outside tolerance
- A395 VM: RGB output 2, Red signal: outside tolerance
- A396 VM: RGB output 2, Green signal: outside tolerance / RGB connection faulty
- A397 VM: RGB output 2, Blue signal: outside tolerance
- A398 VM: Control module: internal fault (internal device error)
- A399 SG was switched to passive mode (MOST active, no application)
- A39A VM: Control module: internal fault (fuse defective MOST active no application)
- AA88 Dummy application DTC
- AA89 VM: overvoltage
- AA8A VM: no current coding data stored
- AA8B VM: coding data faulty
- AA8C VM: coding data not released
- AA8D VM: control module is not encoded for the vehicle
- AA8E VM: coding data implausible
- AA8F VM: transport mode active
- AA90 Host triggered reset from INIC due to fatal error
- AA9A VM: internal control-module fault, hardware
- AA9B VM: internal control-module fault, software
- AA9D VM: CVBS output 1, short circuit
- AA9E VM: CVBS output 1, open circuit or faulty sink
- AA9F VM: short circuit, antenna 1
- AAA0 VM: antenna 1 not connected, high impedance
- AAA1 VM: short circuit, antenna 2
- AAA2 VM: antenna 2 not connected, high impedance
- AAA3 VM: short circuit, antenna 3
- AAA4 VM: antenna 3 not connected, high impedance
- AAA5 FBAS-output 2: open circuit or faulty sink
- AAA6 FBAS-output 2: short circuit
- DBCD MOST_WAKEUPFAILED
- DBCE Error Light not off (and 1 other meaning)
- DBD0 MOST Ring-Break-Diagnosis failed (and 1 other meaning)
- DBD1 Long and/or frequent unlocks (Error_Unlock_Long).
- DBD2 VM: Deactivation, high temperature
