BMW switching center, center console fault codes
The 18 fault codes the switching center, center console can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.
On: 7 Series (E38), 5 Series (E39), 3 Series (E46), X5 (E53), X3 (E83), Z4 (E85), Z4 (E86)
- 0000 SZM: Terminal 30
- 0001 SZM: Seat heating, left, short or open circuit (and 1 other meaning)
- 0002 SZM: Seat heating, right, short or open circuit (and 1 other meaning)
- 0003 SZM: Temp.sensor,seat heating,left,short to grnd. (and 1 other meaning)
- 0004 SZM: Temp.sens.,seat heating,right,short to grnd. (and 1 other meaning)
- 0005 SZM: Temp.sensor, seat heating,left, open circuit (and 1 other meaning)
- 0006 SZM: Temp.sensor, seat heating,right,open circuit
- 0007 SZM: Seat heating, seat cushion, left, open circuit (and 1 other meaning)
- 0008 SZM: Seat heating, seat cushion, right, open circuit (and 1 other meaning)
- 0009 SZM: Roller sun blind,motor,short or open circuit (and 1 other meaning)
- 000A SZM: Wire, active seat, left (and 1 other meaning)
- 000B SZM: Wire, active seat, right (and 1 other meaning)
- 000C SZM: Active seat, left, fault in switching center
- 000D SZM: Active seat,right, fault in switching center
- 000E SZM: K bus
- 000F SZM: PCB temperature, left, too high
- 0010 SZM: PCB temperature, right, too high
- 0017 SZM: Undervoltage
