BMW hybrid interface module fault codes
The 28 fault codes the hybrid interface module can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.

- AA28 HIM: Transport mode active
- AA29 HIM: Wake-up line 1 to BCM, TCM and HCP faulty
- AA2A HIM: Wake-up line 2 to SBA, EMPI and BCM faulty
- AA2B Wakeup line: RUN / CRANK defective
- AA2C Wakeup line: APM_Wakeup defective
- AA2D HIM: Switchable engine mount faulty
- AA2E HIM: Cooling circuit high-voltage battery: Shutoff valve on evaporator in refrigerant circuit (heating and air conditioning system), control unit defective
- AA2F HIM: Cooling circuit, high-voltage battery: shut-off valve, cooling unit, control faulty
- AA30 HIM: Cooling circuit, high-voltage battery, Duo water valve to heat exchanger, control faulty
- AA31 HIM: Cooling circuit, high-voltage battery, Duo water valve to cooling unit, control faulty
- AA32 HIM: Internal hardware fault
- AA33 HIM: Coolant outlet, Power Electronic Box, temperature sensor faulty
- AA34 HIM: Shift paddle (gear change on steering wheel) faulty
- AA35 HIM: Shift paddle (gear change on steering wheel): permanently actuated
- AA36 Second 12V battery: activation line, isolating relay, short circuit to positive or ground
- AA37 Second 12V battery: undervoltage
- AA38 Error 2. Battery: Defective fuse
- CB47 HIM: Bus communication fault (PT-CAN)
- CB4B HIM: Bus communication fault (H-CAN)
- CB4F HIM: Bus communication fault (H-CAN2)
- CB53 HIM: Bus communication fault (D-CAN)
- CB54 No message (request, cooling, high-voltage battery, 0x299) from IHKA, receiver HIM, transmitter IHKA
- CB55 HIM: Interface HCP (control, shut-off valve, cooling unit, 0x2A5), signal invalid
- CB56 HIM: Interface HCP (control, shut-off valve, climate control evaporator, 0x2A5), signal invalid
- CB57 HIM: Interface HCP (control, Duo water valve to heat exchanger, 0x2A5), signal invalid
- CB58 HIM: Interface HCP (control, Duo water valve to cooling unit, 0x2A5), signal invalid
- CB59 HCP25 message (2A5h) Timeout
- CB5A HIM: Bus communication to H-CAN or H-CAN2 despite low level of the wake-up line
