BMW controller fault codes

The 13 fault codes the controller can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.

  • A2C8 CON: Internal control-module fault (engine) (and 1 other meaning)
  • A2C9 CON: Rocker arm, invalid position
  • A2CB CON: Internal control-module fault (hat switch) (and 4 other meanings)
  • A2CC CON: Transport mode active (and 1 other meaning)
  • A2CD CON: Control module, undervoltage
  • A2CE CON: Control module, overvoltage
  • A2CF CON: Energy-saving mode active
  • E2C4 CON: K-CAN line fault (and 1 other meaning)
