BMW automatic interval control fault codes

The 22 fault codes the automatic interval control can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.

  • 0000 no error
  • 0001 AIC: Internal hardware fault
  • 0002 AIC: Adaptation to windshield not possible
  • 0003 AIC: Voltage or temperature not within tolerance
  • 0004 AIC: Communication problems, ASIC controller
  • 0005 AIC: Overwiping not detected
  • 0006 AIC: Reset contact not detected
  • 0010 RLS: Light sensor (hardware)
  • 0020 RLS: Sensor not coded
  • 0030 RLS: Light sensor (sensor)
  • 0040 RLS: Optical initialization (not possible)
  • 0050 RLS: Optical initialization (error and light hardware)
  • 0060 RLS: Optical initialization (error and not coded!)
  • 0070 RLS: Optical initialization (error and light error)
  • 0080 Hardware error
  • 0090 Hardware error and light hardware error
  • 00A0 Hardware error and not coded!
  • 00B0 Hardware error and light plausibility/hardware error
  • 00C0 no optical initialization and hardware error
  • 00D0 Hardware error initialization error light hardware error
  • 00E0 Hardware error initialization error coding error
