BMW navigation system fault codes
The 16 fault codes the navigation system can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.
On: 7 Series (E38), 5 Series (E39), 3 Series (E46), Z8 (E52), X5 (E53), X3 (E83), Z4 (E85), Z4 (E86)
- 0001 NAV: Navigation computer
- 0002 NAV: Wheel sensor
- 0003 NAV: Inputs, peripherals (and 1 other meaning)
- 0004 NAV: GPS receiver does not respond to initialization of NavMk4 (and 2 other meanings)
- 0005 NAV: Temperature too high
- 0006 NAV: Application software
- 0007 NAV: Display
- 0008 NAV: Audio
- 0009 NAV: CD fault (and 1 other meaning)
- 0010 Hardware error in navigation processor
- 0011 Hardware error in compass system
- 0013 Hardware error in wheel sensor system
- 0014 Temperature in navigation computer too high
- 0015 CD error
- 0016 Error in navigation software
- 0017 Calibration error
