BMW rear-compartment monitor fault codes
The 12 fault codes the rear-compartment monitor can store, and what each one means. Some codes mean different things in different versions of the module; tap a code to see which applies to your car.
On: 7 Series (E38)
- 0001 FMBT: Watchdog reset
- 0002 FMBT: PL lead, short circuit to battery voltage
- 0003 FMBT: PL lead, short circuit to ground
- 0004 FMBT: PL lead, open circuit
- 0005 FMBT: LCD monitor, overtemperature
- 0006 FMBT: Radio status telegram time-out
- 0007 FMBT: Short circuit, LF line 1
- 0008 FMBT: Short circuit, LF line 2
- 0009 FMBT: Short circuit, LF line 3
- 000A FMBT: Short circuit, LF line 4
- 000B FMBT: I bus fault during transmission
- 000C FMBT: 25 hour emergency shutoff
